1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Stelais platform at stelais.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
“Stelais,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operators of the Service. “You” and “your” refer to you, the user.
2. Description of Service
Stelais is a digital provenance platform that helps creators establish proof of origin for their creative work. The Service allows you to upload files, generate cryptographic fingerprints and timestamps, anchor proofs to permanent storage, scan for similar content, and generate DMCA takedown notices.
Stelais is a tool, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or guarantees of legal outcome. The proofs, scans, and DMCA notices generated through the Service are informational and technical in nature. You are solely responsible for how you use them.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at admin@stelais.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
5. Your Content
You retain full ownership of the files you upload to Stelais (“Your Content”). By uploading content, you grant Stelais a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, hash, fingerprint, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to upload Your Content — that it is your original work, or that you have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, or permissions. You may not upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to upload, store, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or that violates the rights of others.
- File fraudulent DMCA takedown notices or misrepresent ownership of content through the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service without our written permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent.
7. Subscription Plans and Payments
Stelais offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file at the beginning of each billing cycle.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of a paid plan after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
8. Blockchain Immutability
When a proof of origin is anchored to the Arweave blockchain, the cryptographic hash and associated metadata become permanent and immutable. This data cannot be edited, retracted, or deleted — by you or by us. By creating a proof, you acknowledge and accept this immutability. No original file content is written to the blockchain; only the hash and metadata are stored.
9. DMCA Notices
Stelais provides tools that help you generate DMCA takedown notices based on your proofs of origin. These notices are generated as a convenience. Stelais does not file notices on your behalf, does not act as your legal representative, and does not guarantee that any platform will comply with a notice you send.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any DMCA notice you send. Filing a false DMCA notice may expose you to legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
10. Intellectual Property
The Service — including its design, code, branding, and documentation — is owned by Stelais and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described here.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any particular legal outcome will result from using the Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STELAIS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stelais and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability) will survive.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
17. Contact
